Here is the info for the workshop in Senegal in the following winter:
It is advisable to start the journey to Senegal around 20th of December so that everybody arrives before 23rd of December. The workshop takes place in Ziguinchor, Senegal.
Uživajte u 15 dana glazbenih i plesnih radionica pod vodstvom izvornih senegalskih plesača i glazbenika. Glazbene radionice uključuju sviranje bubnjeva: djembe, saouruba, sabar i kora a plesne radionice obuhvaćaju tradicionalne afričke plesove.
PRICE
The price of complete program (dance or djembe workshops) is 700 euros (600 euros for students).
Deposit (for preparation of everything) needs to be paid by 10th of September - 500 euros.
*In case of cancellation after 10th of September, a fee of 200 euro will be charged.

TRAVEL INFO
1. ZAGREB - DAKAR
There is possibility to take flights for Dakar from Zagreb, Vienna, Italy…..and they can go over Lisbon, Istanbul, Bruxelles, Paris…...and they all have a different price. We found that the ones going from Vienna are the cheapest. Also, it is cheaper if you buy it at least 4 months ahead.
You have a bus to Vienna from Autobusni kolodvor Zagreb and the price varies from 200 to 300 kuna.
At Vienna bus stop there is another bus that takes you directly to the airport (cca 5 euros).
There is also plane you need to take from Dakar to Ziguinchor and the price of a return ticket is around 1000 kuna.
The plan is to travel as a group. I will be already in Senegal waiting for all of you at airport.
2. DAKAR - ZIGUINCHOR
There is a plane going from Dakar to Ziguinchor every day in late afternoon. The price is around 1000 kuna for a return ticket. Price of one-way ticket is around 800 kuna (in case you want to take a boat in one direction and come back with the plane). The duration of the flight is 50 minutes.
The boat from Dakar to Ziguinchor is leaving every week on Tuesday and Friday at 8pm, and arrives in Ziguinchor next day at 10 am. The price is from 16.000 cf to 31.000 cf (25 to 50 euros) depending if you take seat or the sleeping cabin.

Malaria
There is no vaccine for malaria but you can take some medicine to prevent getting sick.
At the time we are there (December, January) it is not the rainy season so there will not be mosquitos. A lot of people do not take any medicine for malaria in this part of the year but you can never be a hundred percent safe - it needs to be your desicion whether to take any medicine or not.

The average temperature in Ziguinchor in December is fairly hot at 24.5 °C (76.1 °F). Afternoons can be very, very hot with average high temperatures reaching 32.5 °C (90.5 °F). Overnight temperatures are generally very mild with an average low of 16.5 °C (61.7 °F). The range/ variation of diurnal mean temperatures in December is 16 °C (28.8 °F). The weather in December is bone dry. An airy 0.9mm (0in) of water is discharged. The shortest day is 11:22 long and the longest day is 11:25 long with an average length of 11:23.
2. Clothing info
You can pack your summer clothes ( you already read weather info :-) !!
In the night and early in the morning can get little bit cold so you will also need light jacket or vest. Bring sport shoes for going into nature. Bathing suit for the beach. As you would pack yourself to go on vacation on Croatian islands during the summer. Also Senegal is mostly Muslim country they do not have any issues with clothes. They also put european clothes and women do not need to cover themselves. So please feel free to put whatever you want and have fun!

OSTALO (popratni sadržaj)
ABENE FESTIVAL, 26.12.2018. - 02.01.2019.
Tijekom vašeg boravka već se tradicionalno svake godine u gradiću Abene održava festival, na kojem imate priliku vidjeti njihove najbolje plesače i glazbenike u živom nastupu. Spoj je to izvornog glazbeno-plesnog izričaja zapadne Afrike i suradnje s raznim glazbenicima iz cijelog svijeta.
PTIČJI OTOK
Blizu sela Kassel (5 km istočno od Kaofuntine) nalazi se ptičji otok gdje se mnoštvo pelikana i žličarki dolaze pariti. Smještaj u afričkom bungalov naselju na obali Atlanskog oceana, okružen prekrasnom senegalskom vegetacijom.
RUŽIČASTO JEZERO RETBA
Mogućnost posjeta neobičnom jezeru Retba (lokalnog naziva Lac Rose) čija će intenzivna ružičasta boja zasigurno uhvatiti pogled svakog prolaznika. Jezero je odvojeno od Atlanskog oceana samo uskim pojasom dina i sadrži visoku koncentraciju soli. Ako se odlučite za posjet vidjet ćete mnoštvo lokalnog stanovništva kako sa dna jezera sakuplja sol koristeći samo svoje ruke. Odlažu sol u košare i potom ih odvoze na obalu te koriste uglavnom za konzerviranje ribe. Ružičasta boja potječe od alge Dunaliella salina koja proizvodi ružičasti pigment. Ova je alga jedan od organizama koji uspjeva živjeti u izrazito slanoj vodi.
BIOGRAFIJA
Commi je rođen u Ziguinchoru, glavnom odredištu našeg putovanja, poznatom po nadarenim glazbenicima i svjetski poznatim festivalima tradicionalne zapadno-afričke glazbe. Od malih nogu svakodnevno je izloženi glazbenom izričaju jer dolaze iz glazbene obitelji u kojima se često pjevalo, plesalo i sviralo na raznim afričkim instrumentima. Sa deset godina Ismaila počinje svirati djembe – jedan od tradicionalnih bubnjeva. Danas je član i predsjednik ˝Association des jeunes artistes de Ziguinchor˝ - udruge za mlade glazbenike. Od 2011. godine posjećuju Hrvatsku, gdje trenutno i boravi. Svira u bendu ˝Keira Kela˝ s kojim nastupa po cijeloj Hrvatskoj i Europi.Vodi djembe radionice i radionice zapadno-afričkog plesa.
